Learn Affiliate Marketing – Part 1

Jan13

<Begin Summary>

Affiliate Marketing: The act of marketing a product for a commission based on sales ranging up to 100%. This product can be your own with yourself acting as an affiliate for your own product. You can also market someone elses product(s) for a commission.

How Much? I want to get this out of the way quickly because that’s usually the first question people want to know. This can be done for free, or you can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars per day to market a product. What’s your budget?

How Much Can I Make? I don’t know. I’ve made more in a month that I made in a year at a highly skilled Network Administration position with a large company. The Internet Marketing gurus have made millions in a day. Study Them. Who? John Reese, Frank Kern, Mike Filsaime, Mark Joyner, {insert your favorite guru here, or comment about it}

Can anyone do this? No. Absolutely not. I say this in the most sincere way. This is not for everyone. Some people are not of the right mindset to be marketers, entrepreneurs, or even making money period. If this is you, you need not read further. Please.

Still with me? Glad we got them out of here. Now, we of like minds can move on.

<Begin Info Digestion>

Since I am very serious about this, and I don’t think we’ve weeded out everyone that doesn’t need to be here, I’m going to go into further detail about why you shouldn’t do this.

  • If you don’t excel in the hunt for a dollar, then business isn’t you you. You have to thrive in an environment that is only yours to create. If you’d rather have a steady paycheck and the security of that, you’re better off as an employee. Check out Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow Quadrant book. It’s on Amazon. I could tell you the benefits of not being in the employee mindset, but honestly, you’d think I was full of it if I told you because your mindset isn’t right for this. You can leave now if this describes you.
  • If you aren’t looking for a quick buck, this isn’t for you. I’ve talked with and met tons of online marketers/entrepreneurs and they work for the money they earn. The point of being a smart entrepreneur is working yourself out of the work though. Make sense? You work your little tail off to begin the streams of income, and then you find employees to do the work to free up your time, while profiting from their labors. Sound familiar? Like the owner of the company you may work for now. Lots of hard work in the beginning will pay off in the end. I guarantee it. Don’t buy hype. If you want quick money, search for that in Google, eventually, you’ll either find it and squander it all, or you’ll go back to work to pay back all the credit card companies the money you owe for the hunt.
  • If you aren’t persistent and give up easily, this isn’t for you. No business is. Persistence pays off. Sometimes, it’s hard to see what you’re working toward and why you’re working toward it. This is where goal setting comes into play. Write that down. We’ll come back to it later. Goal Setting. It’s important. Anyway, you need to be persistent in business. You have to force yourself through the hard parts even when you think you can’t. Want motivation? Check out this youtube video:

  • If you can’t set a goal and stick with it, a business isn’t for you. Goal setting is a very important aspect of any business. You have to be able to set goals for yourself and your company or you’re just meandering around aimlessly. Guess where this gets you? Somewhere, but not where you want to be right? I’m not going to teach you how to set goals. Here’s why:
  • If you can’t research things yourself and find your own conclusions, business isn’t for you. You need to study. You need to learn. You need to accept the hard parts of what people tell you along with the good.
  • If you are easily swayed by friends, family, co-workers, random people, or even your dog, business isn’t for you. Your family will think you’re nuts when you try to have your own business. Your friends will tell you that you’re wasting your time trying to make money on the Internet. Am I off base? Nope. Been there. Done that. They will be glad you decided to become an entrepreneur when you can give them a job when times are tough. You can’t listen to other people You must be decisive.

Ok. If you’re still with me, read on.

There are many benefits to creating a business out of affiliate marketing. I will cover a few. Stay with me here.

  • You get to work from home. Sounds like a dream job right? It is.
  • You get to set your own hours.
  • The only limitation to your business is internet access. This means you can work from anywhere with a means of accessing the internet. Cool right?
  • You can make as much as you’re willing to go after. Seriously. Need more money? Work harder on the niche your in. Expand it. Grow it. Find a new hot niche. Oh. What am I talking about “Niche”? See above. Research it. I’ll cover this in a later post.
  • You can finally buy happiness. Okay. Just kidding. But, you can buy small things that keep you happy for a while :)
  • You get to help people find things they want/need and profit from it. That’s where the money comes in.

</End Digestion>

<Begin Conclusion>

Ok. I’ve rambled a lot here. This is where this post ends. I guarantee you that you will learn from this series. I will talk about things that you have to buy and spent countless thousands on to learn. I will give it to you straight. I don’t sugar coat very easy. See www.twitter.com/crapjamessays that was so graciously created by my friend Peter Dunbar without my knowledge until after a few posts.  I seriously want to scare away the people without the right mindset here. I don’t want them to waste a single second of their precious time they could be making another entrepreneur money, watching television, surfing mindlessly on the internet, or playing some game.

I am not going to provide you with social proof that I know what I’m talking about. Sorry. I’m not going to show you bank statements. I’m not even going to make a cool video showing you checks from affiliate sites. I am going to prove to you that I know what I’m talking about by getting you started in an affiliate marketing business. No Hype. No Games. This will be straight up information that makes me money online so you can do the same. The power of duplication. Sound okay to you?

Post a comment. Let me know. I don’t want to get bored with this and leave you hanging.

Website Change

Aug21

For over a year since starting this blog, I have been using it for backlinks, and a bit of tech information. In starting this blog, I thought I could offer a lot of valuable information to the readers, but after working all day long on computers, it’s difficult to think of things to write about.

With that being said, I have been studying Internet Marketing and Making Money online for about 3 years now. This is something that I enjoy discussing. I can think of tons of tips that I can offer that I know many other beginning internet marketers out there would find helpful and interesting.

I am going to try to start postig on a more regular basis and please comment with your questions and I’ll try to answer them as effectively as I can.

Knol by Google

Jul23

Today, I found out about a site kinda like Squidoo or Hubpages. It’s called Knol by Google and a Knol is a unit of knowledge.

To test it’s effectiveness, I’ve created a knol entitled “Why Update PC Drivers?” to see how quickly it gets search engine results. If you’re reading this, please feel free to check out the Knol and post a comment on there.

We all know that Squidoo, and Hubpages are loved by Google. I wonder how much love they give their own service? :)

Guess time will tell.

Been a while since a tech writing. I will post something soon if I find something really cool.

SOLFAN Consulting – Computer Repair, Networking, IT Consulting in Glen Rose, Granbury, Cleburne and Stephenville

Jul16

This is a plug for my company where I do on-site computer repair in Granbury, Glen Rose, Stephenville, and Cleburne, TX.

When I first started my company over 5 years ago, SOLFAN wasn’t used as much as it is now. For those just reading this for the first time, I named my company this after stressing out over a really cool technological sounding name. I finally settled on “Sick Of Looking For A Name“.

I’ve done remote support all over the world for clients and friends.  Primarily, I focus on on-site support in Granbury and the surrounding areas. Please visit my Services Page on my company website to find out more about the services I provide to my clients. Being in a rural area, it’s hard to list all the things I take care of.

Besides Computer Consulting, I also do Internet Marketing, SEO, and some small website maintenance.

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy the new website!

RegCure Scanner Review

Jul16

RegCure is an application that scans your registry and cleans out all of the “crap” in your registry. This could be links to files that are missing. Perhaps you uninstalled something, and reminants were left in the registry. This application cleans all that junk out.

I’ve known it’s necessary for quite some time and could see how this might be useful, but I never figured I needed it. But, being that I like to try out new apps so that I can make the best recommendations for my clients, I try out a bunch of applications on a test machine I use.

It’s one of those download it, scan it, it found a load of “bad stuff” in my registry. Ok. Let’s clean it up… DOH! Gotta pay for it. Ok.. so I need to test this. I bust out the ol card and pay for RegCure.  It finishes up the cleanup. And I restart the system. It had a noticable speed increase on my system.  I was actually suprised. That was my test box.  I decided I’d try it out on my main system that I run CCleaner (Registry clean option and file cleanup) and other applications as well.

RegCure still found crap on there. So, I’ve got it. It cleans the registry. It does in fact make your system run faster. I didn’t have any noticable errors, but I’m sure it would take care of actual errors since they proved themselves in other claims.

With all that being said, if you want to check it out, get it over at RegCure Scanner.com

If you’ve found this post interesting, by all means, bookmark the heck out of it.

Programs To Update My PC Drivers

Jul04

I used to spend hours and hours updating drivers on my own and clients systems. Sometimes, it’s difficult even on newer systems to find the appropriate drivers. There are applications that can help you know exactly which equipment is attached to your system to help locate the appropriate drivers.

On older equipment, the different manufacturers have the device drivers archived off somewhere making it more difficult to find.

I recently found and began testing some Automatic Driver Update Software called Driver Detective that tells me exactly which drivers are out of date and with the click of a button, I can have it update everything for me. Shocking at how simple this actually is. I wish I were a developer because I’d have developed this a long time ago and been a billionaire by now!

I hope this software is able to help you out like it did me. It makes my life tons easier. I might require my clients purchase this!

Find it available at http://www.PCDriverDoctor.com – What driver are you searching for?

What is Magic Jack?

Jun09

This has been a long time coming. A friend asked me to look at the Magic Jack for him to see what I thought. I checked out the site and was intrigued by the device. I told a few other people about it and finally someone broke down and made the purchase.

After a few weeks, I couldn’t stand it anymore and I bought my own. This nifty little USB device came in the mail packed nicely a few days after ordering online. One evening a few days after I ordered, I decided to check the tracking number sent to me. It was almost 10pm. It showed to be in my P.O. Box. I didn’t know if it would fit in my box, or if they’d put it in a bigger box and leave a key like they sometimes do, or if I’d be wasting gas driving the 7 miles to town to get it.

When I got there, it fit in my box. I opened it before I even left the post office.

I inserted it into my PC as soon as I got home. It automatically started loading software, went through a little update, and let me register and pick out a phone number and all that stuff.

After I got it all set up, it was time to make calls. I had no idea that my friends would ignore random calls at 11pm at night! But, they did. No one answered. Finally, I called a friend from my cell phone and they answered. I told them to answer when I called back from my new Magic Jack that I was testing.

The quality was great. No drop outs. There was a slight irritating buzz that my assumption is that it was created from my crappy headset or something. When I plugged a telephone into the Magic Jack, it worked like a charm. Since that time, I’ve called many people from 2 different systems and from the phone and headset. It works great!

To give you a little more insight, this device costs $40.00 and that includes the first YEAR of service. Each year after that, you can get the service for $20.00. There is a special offer at the time of purchase that you can get 5 years of service and the Magic Jack for $99.00 or something. Saves you 20.00 over the years.

What is the service?

Unlimited Phone calls on VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) to anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. That’s right! Unlimited! With services like this popping up, what will companies like Vonage do?

I would recommend this to anyone. It’s a great price for an unbelievable device.

Check out the Magic Jack on their official site http://www.magicjack.com
